M6 Accident Today
A three-car crash has led to traffic being held on the M6 near Coventry. It happened from J3 (Bedworth Bypass) to J2 (Coventry) Southbound.
All emergency services including the air ambulance are working at the scene, in a response being led by Warwickshire Police.
M6 Traffic News
National Highways confirmed the M6 remains blocked while emergency services deal with a crash which happened earlier today (Friday, January 20).
Drivers have been told to allow extra time for journeys as delays are starting to build nearby.
Inrix says: ‘M6 Southbound closed, queueing traffic due to accident investigation work from J3 A444 Bedworth Bypass (Nuneaton / Coventry) to J2 M69 (Coventry).’
‘Southbound remains closed following an accident first reported around 08:30. Northbound has just reopened around 09:55 with a travel time of around 40 minutes.’
Huge traffic delays are expected on the M6. Currently, there are roughly four miles of congestion back towards Corley Services.
Traffic monitoring site Inrix says the M6 is ‘blocked’ in both directions due to the accident. It happened shortly before 8.30am today (Friday, January 20).
Sophia Bentley Car Accident
Sophia Ann Bentley, 18, a recent graduate of Byron Center High School, was remembered as a caring young woman who loved her family and friends and had an impact on others’ lives.
She died Tuesday, Jan. 17, in a two-vehicle crash on M-6.
She played soccer in high school and was active in school and in the community. She was pursing a nursing degree, with plans to become a nurse practitioner, at Davenport University.
The crash happened just before noon on Tuesday. State police said Bentley was entering westbound M-6 from Broadmoor Avenue SE when she lost control of her pickup truck and struck a box truck.
She was taken to a hospital where she later died. The other driver was taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries, state police said.
M6 Accident Michigan
A 19-year-old from Byron Center is in critical condition after a head-on collision with another truck, Michigan State Police said.
The crash happened around noon on Tuesday, Jan. 17, near the area of M-6 at Broadmoor Avenue SE.
Troopers said the Byron Center teen was entering westbound M-6 from Broadmoor Avenue when the driver lost control of his Chevy pickup truck and was struck by a box truck.
The teen was transported to an area hospital and remains in critical condition.
The driver of the box truck was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. The roadway, which was closed shortly after the crash, has since reopened.
The crash remains under investigation.
M6 Southbound Accident Today
M6 (Southbound) has been closed between J3 and J2 near Coventry following a serious multi-vehicle collision.
Emergency services are working at the scene, in a response being led by Warwickshire Police.
It is unclear at this stage the extent of drivers’ injuries.
A number of emergency services, including an air ambulance, have been sent to the scene of the crash, according to National Highways. Delays of around 30 minutes can be expected with four miles of congestion back towards Corley Services.
